HR— In focus

what makes planning successful. Carter McNamara a consultant with over 20 years
of consulting experience will facilitate this session. Date: April 15th

building blocks for boards (roles, responsibilities, etc.). The second session
will focus on practical examples and best practices of high functioning boards
including board member retention and how to take a board to the next level in
its development. Date May 25th
First session from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Second Session from 5:00 to 8:30PM at
the LaGrange Country Club (620 S. Brainard, LaGrange).
Media Awareness—This
topic ranked high in CMF’s last grantee survey. CMF will work with a consultant
to develop a training for non-profits on how to tell their story via media.
This session will also include a panel discussion with reporters from local
papers. Anticipated date—June..
Evaluation: Evaluation assistance continues to be needed
for many CMF grantees. In this “refresher” session, CMF will revisit topics
covered in a similar session in 2009, focusing on assisting grantees to develop
program goals and measurable outcome objectives. Anticipated date—August.
